 Kingdom Praying

Join Pastor Tyron Hanks and other believers from around the globe for a brief time of prayer (study) every Monday morning 6:30 AM CST US.  Kingdom praying is the expansion of God's rule over humanity.  As a Pastor I teach that it's intentional prayer for future outlook and outcome.  The word gives a strong warning in Luke 9:62:  “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” So t  then the questions remain, why  look back and what makes one unfit?  We're always looking at what has already been accomplished, usually  for validation.

Putting your hands on the plow is a proverbial expression, it signifies as believers we have decided to commit our lives to the things of the  Lord. When Jesus made this statement. He knows it is a agricultural age where the audience would be very familiar with what He is speaking.  For a plowman to be successful in His work, he must concentrate on the job he started. He knows that the only way is forward and not being  distracted by the things left behind. In case the plowman starts to look back, his plow line would become crooked. If that happens, the field he  is plowing will not yield a full harvest. In today's time, we're not in a field plowing so to speak. But most of us drive a car to our  various destinations, praying for safe arrival. We must focus on what's in front of us. We may glance in the rearview mirror every now

and  then, but our focus should be on what's ahead.

What makes us unfit for the Kingdom?

We are commanded to bear much fruit. When we keep on looking back, we won’t be able to plow our field properly and because of that, we will  not have plenty of harvests. God called us out of this world and once we responded to that call, we must never try to go back to the world.  However, because of the many pleasures that the world offers – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – we tend to look  back and be regretful of our calling. When this happens, we are preventing ourselves from bearing much fruit. We might even let go of the  plow and go back to our old sinful ways. A man who does not finish the job God has given him will not be fit for God’s kingdom. How can God  entrust the rulership in His Kingdom if we haven’t done our part.
